Welcome

A New Kind of Resort on the Algarve

On 18 June 2027, Dopdopo opens its doors in Vilamoura, a few steps from the marina and a short stroll from the golden sands of Praia da Falésia. It is a land-based resort designed for people who want everything in one place: beautiful rooms, serious food, cocktails worth crossing town for, a calendar of events that changes with the seasons, and a sense that something exciting is always about to happen.

Most coastal hotels are built around a pool and a buffet. Dopdopo is built around the evening. By day it is calm and sunlit – pale stone, white linen, shaded courtyards scented with orange blossom and rosemary. As the sun goes down, the architecture changes character. Lines of neon pink, electric cyan and lime green trace the façades, the rooftop fills with music, and the restaurants light their candles. The transformation is deliberate, and it is what makes the resort feel unlike anywhere else on the coast.

Every part of the property has been designed with the guest experience first. Arrival is handled by a dedicated host who takes you straight to your room, with check-in completed over a glass of chilled Algarve rosé. Your preferences – the pillow you like, the newspaper you read, the time you want your morning coffee – are noted once and remembered for every visit. Families, couples, solo travellers, wedding parties and conference delegates all have their own spaces, so the resort can be lively and peaceful at the same time.

The adults-only casino occupies a separate wing on the lower ground floor, with its own entrance, so guests who come purely for the hotel, the food and the beach never need to pass through it. The heart of Dopdopo is, and will always be, its hospitality.

Rooms & Suites

312 Rooms Designed for Deep Sleep and Big Views

Accommodation at Dopdopo is spread across two connected towers and a low-rise garden wing. Every one of the 312 rooms and suites has a private balcony or terrace, floor-to-ceiling glazing, blackout curtains, a rainfall shower and a bed dressed in 400-thread-count Portuguese cotton. Soundproofing exceeds five-star standards, so the energy of the rooftop never reaches your pillow. Interiors combine warm oak, hand-glazed azulejo tiles and soft textiles with subtle neon accents that you can dim, change colour or switch off entirely from a bedside tablet.

Technology is generous but invisible. Rooms include high-speed Wi-Fi throughout, wireless charging, smart climate control, a 65-inch screen with casting, and a Nespresso machine with locally roasted capsules. Minibars are stocked with Algarve craft gins, natural juices, almonds from the hills of Loulé and chocolate made in Lisbon. Bathrooms are finished in pale Estremoz marble with amenities by a Portuguese botanical brand.

Interconnecting family suites in the main tower include bunk-bed alcoves, children's amenity kits and a welcome hamper with Portuguese pastries, while our supervised kids' club takes ages four to twelve every morning and afternoon throughout the summer season.

Thoughtful Extras

Every stay includes a full breakfast, access to the infinity pool and the beach club, daily evening turndown, and a pillow menu with seven options. Fully accessible rooms are available in every category, with roll-in showers, lowered fixtures and visual alarms.

Restaurants & Dinners

Five Kitchens, One Obsession: Flavour

Food is the beating heart of Dopdopo. Our culinary team, led by an executive chef who trained in San Sebastián and Lisbon before running kitchens across three continents, has spent two years building relationships with fishermen in Quarteira, organic farms in the Monchique hills and small winemakers in the Alentejo. The result is five distinct restaurants, each with its own personality and each serving dinner every night of the week.

Maré – Atlantic Fine Dining

Maré is the resort's flagship: 48 seats, an open kitchen and a tasting menu that changes with the tide. Expect dishes such as raw red prawns from Quarteira with green apple and sea fennel, slow-cooked cuttlefish in its own ink with smoked butter, and line-caught turbot roasted over vine cuttings. Wine pairings draw from a cellar of more than 1,200 labels, with a particular focus on Douro reds, Vinho Verde and the mineral whites of the Algarve itself. Dinner is served from 19:00, and a vegetarian tasting menu is always available.

Brasa – Open-Fire Grill

Brasa is louder, warmer and built around a six-metre wood-fired grill. Dry-aged Alentejo beef, black pork secretos, whole grilled sea bream and charred piri-piri chicken arrive on sharing boards with hand-cut fries, tomato salad and grilled corn. It is the place for long family dinners and birthday celebrations, with a terrace overlooking the gardens.

Lume – Pan-Asian Kitchen

Glowing under a ceiling of hundreds of neon-tinted paper lanterns, Lume serves robata skewers, hand-rolled sushi made with Algarve tuna, Korean-style fried chicken and fragrant curries. Its late-night menu runs until 01:00, perfect after an evening on the rooftop.

Pátio – All-Day Mediterranean

Pátio is the relaxed heart of the resort, serving the breakfast spread each morning – fresh pastéis de nata, local honey and cheeses, egg dishes cooked to order and a juice bar – followed by salads, pizzas from a stone oven and grilled fish through the afternoon and evening.

Doce – Pastry & Gelato

Our pastry studio makes everything from croissants to wedding cakes in-house. Its café counter serves single-origin coffee, gelato in sixteen flavours, and a famous orange and almond tart made from a recipe given to our pastry chef by her grandmother.

Signature DinnersA table you'll talk about for years

Weekly Dinner Calendar

Signature Dinners and Culinary Experiences

Beyond the restaurants, Dopdopo hosts a programme of dinners designed to become the stories you tell at home. The Chef's Table seats just ten guests at the pass in Maré, where the chefs cook and explain each of ten courses in front of you. The Rooftop Supper Club takes over the sky terrace every Saturday with a five-course menu, a live band and a dance floor under the stars. Once a month, our Winemaker Dinner invites a Portuguese producer to present their wines alongside a menu created specifically for them, while the Fado & Petiscos nights pair traditional Portuguese small plates with live fado singers in the candlelit courtyard.

For something truly private, guests can book the Cellar Room, a vaulted space beneath Maré that seats up to sixteen, surrounded by the wine collection. Our events team can arrange private beach dinners with a dedicated chef and waiter, sunset picnics on a sailing yacht from the marina, or a cooking class with our pastry team that ends with a long lunch of everything you have made. Dietary needs – vegan, gluten-free, halal, kosher-style or allergen-free – are welcomed and handled with genuine care rather than as an afterthought.

Bars & Lounges

Four Bars, Four Moods, One Glowing Skyline

If dinner is the heart of Dopdopo, the bars are its pulse. Each one has been designed with a different moment of the evening in mind, from the first sunset spritz to the final nightcap. Our head of mixology has developed more than sixty original cocktails across the four venues, using Portuguese ingredients such as medronho, ginja cherry liqueur, Madeira wine, Algarve oranges, fig leaf and wild fennel.

Halo Rooftop

Ten floors up with a 360° view of the marina and ocean. DJs Thursday to Sunday, neon-lit lounge beds and a sunset ritual every evening.

17:00 – 02:00

Velvet Bar

An intimate speakeasy behind an unmarked door. Low lights, live jazz, rare whiskies and a menu of twelve signature cocktails.

19:00 – 02:00

Sol Pool Bar

Swim-up bar and cabanas serving frozen cocktails, fresh coconuts, light bites and zero-proof spritzes all afternoon.

10:00 – 19:00

Lobby Lounge

Morning coffee, afternoon tea with Portuguese pastries and an evening piano programme in a soaring atrium.

08:00 – 00:00

Halo: The Rooftop Everyone Will Talk About

Halo is the image most people will carry home from Dopdopo. Ringed by a circle of cyan light visible from the marina, it combines an infinity-edge plunge pool, a glass-fronted bar and tiered lounge terraces that look straight out over the Atlantic. Sunsets are marked each evening by a short ritual – the lights shift from pink to cyan and the bar pours a complimentary taste of its signature Halo Spritz, made with white port, bitter orange and sparkling Algarve wine. After dark, resident and guest DJs play from Thursday to Sunday, and the dance floor stays busy until late.

Velvet: For Those Who Know

Hidden behind a bookcase off the lobby, Velvet seats only forty guests. Its bartenders work without a printed menu if you prefer, building drinks around your mood and favourite flavours. A live jazz trio plays on Friday and Saturday nights, and a private room can be reserved for whisky, port or gin tastings led by our spirits specialist. Next door, the separate adults-only casino lounge has its own quiet cocktail bar for guests who want a nightcap away from the music.

Zero-Proof and Wellness Drinks

We believe a great bar should be just as exciting for guests who are not drinking alcohol. Every venue offers a full zero-proof menu – shrubs, house-made sodas, kombucha, botanical tonics and alcohol-free sparkling wines – crafted with exactly the same care as the classic list.

Events & Celebrations

Weddings, Conferences and Nights to Remember

Dopdopo was designed from the very first sketch to host events. The 2,400 m² Aurora Hall can be divided into four soundproofed sections, holds up to 1,600 guests for a reception or 900 for a seated gala dinner, and is equipped with a full LED wall, theatre lighting rig, broadcast-ready audio and a stage that can rise hydraulically. A dedicated loading bay allows cars, stages and full productions to be brought straight into the hall.

Alongside the main hall, the resort offers twelve meeting rooms with natural daylight, a 180-seat auditorium, a boardroom for twenty, and outdoor venues including the olive garden, the beach club and the Halo rooftop. Every event is assigned a single coordinator who works with you from the first enquiry to the final farewell.

Weddings by the Sea

Couples can say their vows on the clifftop lawn as the sun sets over the ocean, enjoy cocktails in the orange-tree courtyard and dance until late in the Aurora Hall or under the open sky on the rooftop. Our wedding team handles everything from legal paperwork for international couples to florists, photographers, music and fireworks over the marina. Wedding packages include a complimentary suite for the couple, a menu tasting for six, and preferential room rates for guests.

Corporate Meetings and Incentives

For companies, Dopdopo offers a complete package: modern meeting spaces, fast and secure connectivity, hybrid-event streaming, breakout sessions in the gardens, and team experiences such as sailing regattas, cooking competitions, wine-blending workshops and sunset yoga. Our location 25 minutes from Faro International Airport, with direct flights from more than 70 European cities, makes it easy to bring teams together.
